Update

It's been kinda crazy lately, with friend either sick, or in need of help. Also the Mid Terms are here, and I've been quite busy with exams and projects. On the study note, I met with my counselor yesterday, and with all me credits that transferred from South Africa, I just need 4 more classes in Accounting - Which are offered this Summer and Spring - and I'll be graduating this December with not only 1, but 2 degrees under my name - YEAH. It will the Associates of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education , and and Associate of Applied Science in Accounting. There are still a few wrinkles to be sorted out, but I am very confident that it will all work out. So, I will need some support from my nearest and dearest, because the next 10 months will be hard!!!

Today after my class in Parachute, I'll be driving on to Green River in Utah to meet up with Lance, whom I have not seen since his visit over Valentine's day. I'm so excited to finally have some time with just him, no family meetings, friends around or the pressure of impressing. Our relationship is going really strong, I just hope he stick around for another 10 months while I finish my education :) I think he will... And then the plan is that I'll move to Salt Lake City to work at a preschool there, and be closer to my man, which I'm already quite excited about :)

Our trip to South Africa is April 18th to April 26, and we have quite the exciting itinerary. I'm so excited to see my family, and show Lance my home country. I just know that it will be awesome :)

Ok, Gotta go now. Love to all

Where am I from...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_africa

The Republic of South Africa (also known by other official names) is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It borders the Atlantic and Indian oceans and Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland, and Lesotho, an independent enclave surrounded by South African territory. South Africa is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The South African economy is the largest in Africa and 24th largest in the world. Due to this it is the most socially, economically and infrastructurally developed country on the continent.

South Africa has experienced a different history from other nations in Africa because of early immigration from Europe and the strategic importance of the Cape Sea Route. European immigration began shortly after the Dutch East India Company founded a station at what would become Cape Town, in 1652. The closure of the Suez Canal during the Six-Day War highlighted its significance to East-West trade. The country's relatively developed infrastructure made its mineral wealth available and important to Western interests, particularly throughout the late nineteenth century and, with international competition and rivalry, during the Cold War. South Africa is ethnically diverse, with the largest Caucasian, Indian, and racially mixed communities in Africa. Black South Africans, who speak nine officially recognised languages, and many more dialects, account for slightly less than 80% of the population.

Racial strife between the white minority and the black majority has played a large part in South Africa's history and politics, culminating in apartheid, which was instituted in 1948 by the National Party (although segregation existed before that time). The laws that defined apartheid began to be repealed or abolished by the National Party in 1990, after a long and sometimes violent struggle (including economic sanctions from the international community) by the Black majority as well as many White, Coloured, and Indian South Africans.

Several philosophies and ideologies have developed in South Africa, including ubuntu (the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity) and Jan Smuts's holism.

Regular elections have been held for almost a century; but the majority of South Africans were not enfranchised until 1994.

South Africa is often called the "Rainbow Nation", a term coined by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and later adopted by then President Nelson Mandela. Mandela used the term "Rainbow Nation" as a metaphor to describe the country's newly developing multicultural diversity after segregationist apartheid ideology. By 2007, the country had joined Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, and Spain in legalizing same-sex marriage.

My Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony

With Alyson beside me I received my certificate for joining Phi Theta Kappa - International Honor Society. I had to give a little speech too...which went very well :) My Math teacher commented on my eagerness for a 100 %, and the food was really yummy. After the ceremony Alyson and I went to Target for some retail therapy :)

I'm so proud. Das ist fur dich Pappa :)

Mark Twain

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away form the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER.

My Valentine's Day 2008

Valentine's day begun with snow a covered world outside. We took the girls to gymnastics and drove around a little to enjoy the wonder of snow everywhere.

My surprise from Lance was a Dog Sled ride at Krabloonik
http://www.krabloonik.com/

We arrived the just after 3pm and walked through the dog kennels, before an introductory video and then nestling into a sled led by 12 dogs.

Then a perfect Dinner at the lodge with a rose :) and a glass of wine. Our choices included Escargot, Ribs, Elk, Lobster, steak... just incredibly yummy!!!

The most perfect day ever!!!

Thank You Lance.

Love U
